So Obama's victory is seen as a victory for people with mixed ethnic backgrounds. Also, Hawaii is a very small state that doesn't get much attention, except as a tourist destination. Many people in Hawaii believe that having a president from Hawaii will help the state get additional exposure and resources. Many people in Hawaii dislike President Bush, so there is a lot of hope and optimism that Obama can put the U.S. back on the right path.

Además, añade que Hawaii es un estado muy diverso étnicamente y la victoria de Obama también es vista como una victoria para la gente que tiene procedencia mixta (étnicamente). También dicen que Hawaii es un estado muy pequeño que no llama demasiado la atención excepto para el turismo, así que mucha gente de Hawaii cree que tener un presidente del estado hará que Hawaii tenga más reclamos.
Para acabar comentan que hay mucha gente en Hawaii a la que no le gusta el Presidente Bush, así que son optimistas de que Obama volverá a llevar a los Estados Unidos hacia el buen camino.
